How is the book personalised?

You send one photo. We build a character sheet from it — face, hair, eye colour, costume — and paint every page from that sheet, so your child is recognisably themselves from the cover to the last page. Their name goes on the cover too: your copy is titled “Mia and the Enchanted Forest”. No two books are the same.

What's inside?

12 illustrated pages telling the whole story, with your child in them. Every page comes in two reading levels — shorter lines for 2–5, a fuller story for 6–10 — so you can switch as they grow. There's also a dedication page you write yourself and a letter to your child from a character in the story.

Size and print quality

The hardcover is a square 22×22cm (8.5″) picture book, printed on quality stock. Every page is laid out at 300 DPI — the same file that goes to press and into your PDF. It includes the digital edition, so the A$69 covers both.

What happens to my child's photo?

It's used for one thing only: making your book. We never sell it, never use it to train our own AI, and we delete it whenever you ask us to.

The book

  • How is the book personalised?

Two things make it theirs, not just their copy. Their name is lettered on the cover, in the title and all through the story — and your child is the character in every illustration, drawn from the photo you send. Add a dedication in your own words and no other copy of this book exists.

  • Will it actually look like my child?

We build a character sheet from your photo — face, hair, eye colour, costume — and every page is painted from that one sheet, so they stay recognisably themselves from the cover to the last page. It's an illustrated version of your child in the style you choose, not a photo pasted into a scene.

  • How is this different from other personalised books?

Most personalised books drop a name into a story about somebody else's character. Here the hero is your child: their face, page after page, the same little face throughout — and you see it before you pay anything.

  • What's inside the book?

12 illustrated story pages, and then the parts children come back to: a dedication page you write, a colouring page of your own child as the hero, two pages to draw their own adventure, and a letter written to them by a character from the story. 20 pages inside the hardcover.

  • What ages is it for?

Roughly 1 to 10. Every book is written at two reading levels — shorter, joyful lines for the little ones and a fuller story for older children — and you can switch between them whenever you read it, so the book grows with them.

  • Can I choose how the illustrations look?

Yes — 3 styles: painted storybook, 3d animated, cartoon. You pick the one you like when you meet your hero, and you can try a different one before you commit (up to 5 looks per book).

  • How many adventures can I choose from?

9 today — space, pirates, dinosaurs, dragons, the ocean, safari, an enchanted forest, a superhero story and a bedtime one — with more added over time. Each has its own costume, cast and ending, so a second book for the same child is a genuinely different story. See the adventures.

Making it

  • What kind of photo do I need?

One clear, well-lit, front-facing photo of their face — straight from your phone is perfect. No professional shoot, no particular background. You can add a couple more if you like, and you can swap the photo and try again before you decide anything.

  • Can I see the book before I pay?

Yes, and that's the whole idea. You meet your child as the hero and read the opening pages of the story for free. Nothing is asked for until you've seen it.

  • How long does it take to make?

Minutes. You add a photo, pick a style and an adventure, and the book is painted while you wait — then it's yours to read straight away.

  • Can I change a page I don't like?

Yes. Before anything is printed you read the whole book, switch between the shorter and longer text, and redo any illustration that isn't right — up to 2 tries a page and 8 across the book, included.

  • Can I make a book for each of my children?

Yes — each book stars one child, so twins and siblings get one each, and every story is tailored to that child's name and age. Order them together and 20% comes off, in one parcel with one delivery charge.

  • Can I use the same hero in another book?

Yes. Once you've made a hero they're saved to your account, so the next book starts from them — no photo to upload again, same face, a new adventure. It's the quickest way to build a little series or a birthday tradition.

Price and what you get

  • How much does a personalised book cost?

The digital book is A$29. The hardcover is A$69 and includes the digital edition, plus A$9.95 flat shipping anywhere in Australia. One book, one payment — nothing recurring.

  • What do I get with the digital book?

The finished book to read on any screen — phone, tablet or laptop — in your library, plus a high-resolution PDF you can keep or print pages from at home. Both reading levels are included, so you can switch as they grow.

  • What's the difference between the digital book and the hardcover?

It's the same book — the same story, the same pages, the same illustrations. The hardcover adds the object: a square 22×22cm picture book, printed and posted to you, with the digital edition included so you can read it while the parcel is on its way.

  • Can I add the hardcover later?

Yes, any time from your library, for A$44 plus shipping. It costs a little more than choosing the pair up front (A$69 for both) — that difference is the price of deciding later, and there's no deadline on it.

  • Can I order more than one book?

Yes, and it's cheaper: add a second book to the same order and 20% comes off the whole thing, with one delivery charge and one parcel. Most people make the second one for another child — it can be a different hero entirely, and you can add the photo after checkout. You can also print pages from your PDF at home any time.

  • Is there a subscription?

No. Every book is a one-off purchase, there are no memberships or recurring fees, and the books you buy stay in your library to re-read and re-download whenever you want.

Print, delivery and guarantees

  • How big is the hardcover, and how good is the print?

A square 22×22cm (8.5″) hardcover picture book with a wrapped cover. Every page is laid out at 300 DPI, full-bleed, and the text is real text set over the artwork rather than baked into it — the same file goes to the press and into your PDF.

  • Nothing prints before I've seen it, right?

Right. The hardcover only goes to print after you've read every page and approved it. If a page isn't right you redo it first — the book that prints is the book you signed off, which is also why we can be strict about change-of-mind refunds afterwards.

  • When will it arrive?

Your digital book is ready within minutes — you can read it the same night. The hardcover is printed in Australia only after you've approved every page, and we email you tracking the moment it ships so you can follow it to your door.

  • What if the book arrives damaged?

We replace it. Send us a photo of the damage and we'll reprint and reship at no cost — you don't need to return anything. The same goes for a misprint, or for a book that isn't the one you approved. Refunds & guarantees.

  • Can I get a refund?

Because every book is made for one child, we can't refund a change of mind once you've approved a hardcover for print — that's exactly why you read and approve every page first. If it arrives faulty, damaged or not the book you approved, you get a free reprint or a refund. Refunds & guarantees.

Your family's privacy

  • What happens to my child's photo?

It's used for one thing only: making your book. We never sell it, never use it to train our own AI, and we delete it whenever you ask us to. It isn't shown to anyone else and it never appears anywhere on this site. Privacy promise.

  • Is it safe to put my child's name and face in a book?

Your book is private. It lives in your library behind your login, it is never published, listed or shown as an example, and the sample books on this site are our own — never a customer's child. The only people who see your book are the people you show it to. Privacy promise.

  • Do I need an account?

Not to create a book and read the preview. After you buy, we email you a link to set a password so your books live safely in your library on any device — and so a hero you've made is there next time.

  • Something else?

There's a person at the other end of the contact form in our help centre, and we usually answer the same day. If anything here isn't clear, ask — we'd rather answer twice than have you guess. Help centre.
