Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Little Hero(“we”, “us”, “our”) for your use of our website and our service that creates personalised, illustrated children’s books. By creating a book, uploading a photo, or buying from us, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract to buy from us or to upload a photo. By uploading a photo of a child, you confirm you are that child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have the consent of the parent or guardian, and that you have the right to use the photo for this purpose.

We use artificial intelligence to turn a photo and a few details into an illustrated story where your child is the hero. Because the artwork is AI-generated, every book is unique and likenesses are an artistic interpretation, not a photographic reproduction. You can preview a free teaser, review pages, and (within the limits shown) regenerate pages before a hardcover is printed.

You keep ownership of the photos and details you upload (“your content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process and adapt your content solely to create, deliver and support your book (including sending it to the third-party services we rely on to generate and print it — see our Privacy Policy). We do not use your child’s photo to train our own models or sell it to anyone. This licence ends when we delete your content (see the Privacy Policy for retention).

When your book is generated, you may use it for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment — read it, print it, and keep it. You may not resell it, use it commercially, or claim the illustration style or our site materials as your own.

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: only upload appropriate photos of a real child you’re entitled to use, and never anything illegal or abusive. We screen uploads and generated pages automatically and may refuse, block or remove content, and suspend accounts, to keep the service safe and lawful.

Prices are shown before you pay and may change over time. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don’t store your full card details. Delivery times for hardcovers are estimates, not guarantees. Returns, refunds and your rights if something is wrong are covered by our Print & Returns Policy.

We aim to keep the service running but can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may rely on third-party providers whose availability is outside our control.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law our liability for any claim connected with the service or a book is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the book or service or refunding the price you paid, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

You agree to reimburse us for loss we suffer because you breached these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or uploaded content you weren’t entitled to use.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version and date are shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the state in which we operate, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
