Our promise about your child's photo

We know a photo of your child is precious and sensitive. We use it for one thing only — to create the book you asked for — and we never sell it, never use it to train our own AI, and delete it as set out below.

What we collect

The photo(s) you upload and the child’s first name, age and gender you enter.
Your email address, and for hardcovers your shipping address and phone number.
Payment information, handled directly by Stripe — we don’t see or store your full card number.
Basic usage and device data needed to run, secure and improve the site.

How we use it

We use your information to generate your book, show you previews, take payment, deliver your digital and hardcover editions, provide support, keep the service safe (including the automated content checks described below), and meet our legal obligations. We rely on your consent (which you give at upload) and on performing our contract with you.

AI processing

To create the artwork, your photo and details are sent to our AI image-generation provider (Google’s Gemini models). We instruct our providers to process the image only to fulfil your request and not to use it to train their general models where that option is available to us. Likenesses are an artistic interpretation, not a biometric identification system.

Who we share it with (our processors)

We don’t sell your data. We share the minimum needed with trusted providers who act on our behalf:

Google (Gemini) — AI image generation and content-safety checks.
Supabase — database, secure file storage and accounts.
Stripe — payment processing.
Prodigi — hardcover printing and fulfilment, printed in Australia (only if you order a print).
Resend — sending you transactional emails.
Vercel — website and application hosting.

Some providers may process data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it to a comparable standard.

Children's data

Our service is bought and operated by adults, but it necessarily involves a child’s photo and first name. We collect that data only with the parent or guardian’s attestation, use it solely to make the book, and apply extra care to its handling, retention and deletion.

Keeping it safe, and deleting it

Files are stored in secured, access-controlled storage. We keep your content only as long as needed to create and support your book. You can ask us to delete your photo and personal information at any time by emailing littlehero2026@outlook.com and we’ll do so unless we’re required to keep certain records (for example, for tax or legal reasons).

Content safety screening

To protect children and keep the service lawful, uploaded photos and generated pages are automatically screened for unsafe content before and after generation. A record of any block decision (but never a copy of an unsafe image) may be kept as a safety audit log.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or to delete it, by contacting us. If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first; you also have the right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
